Kashal stepped through the large gate that seperated the courtyard from the rest of the world. He leaned on his staff. It had been a long journey to the academy. But he was here now. That was what truly mattered. He stood there taking in his surroundings. Surly the crazy old man here would be able to teach him what he needed. Then he could bring a quick destruction to the Valordan. The only thing that may hinder him could be his fellow students. He would have to learn quickly who he could trust... and who would have to be... "removed".

Khynes strode through the open gates, looking around at the vast courtyard. He was surprised that it wasn't more crowded, there was no love for the Valordan anywhere that he was aware of. He walked over to a nearby human male, and hoping his appearence did not frighten him, or that his fangs did not garble his speech beyond understanding, asked him a question. "Do you *hkkh* know where I can find the proprietor of this'k inssstitution?"
He had no idea how the humans could speak like this. Why were their mouths not properly formed, so they could speak Skrael? Then he wouldn't be humiliating himself like this.

Maloran exited the academy to greet his new students. He had been expecting them much sooner. The fact that anyone would arrive anywhere later than he expected infuriated him. Such actions SHOULD be punished... but he couldnt make it OBVIOUS! That would be the trick. Punishing them without them knowing why! He was looking forward to it already.
He crossed the courtyard and stopped infront of the two unsuspecting students, "Welcome to the kenset Academy! HOW DARE YOU ARRIVE LATE!!!!" oops... he hadnt ment to let that one slip out. No matter! He was a man of complete control, "There is no logical reason for you to be here late! What could POSSABLY be more important than arriving here at MY academy when I was planning on you doing it!?!"

Hidden near in the trees watched a pair of indigo eyes. Slowly she closed them, as the feeling of slight amusement flickered over her figure; a slight chuckle slipping past her lips. Her firey hued ears perked and listening to the few words that passed through the others lips. Currently she was clad in her cultures smooth, flexible leather. It covered her chest, and weaved around the rest of her lithe and slender form; her red fur showing though the weaker parts of the armour, the current travel attire. Her brown-orange hair held in a tight ponytail with a piece of strong leather. Quietly she slipped from the tree onto the ground, the shock absorbed in her canine pads, and spongy travel boots. Once her feet met the ground, she raced to close the distance between the group and herself.
The dirt below her pawed feet crunched, but only because she allowed the noise. An approach to such a group without any notice of coming would be stupid. Once they were in sight, she slowed her pace, and allowed her breathing to slow as she walked the rest of the distance. Since she'd already heard the question, she grinned and replied, keeping herself behind the others. "I had a prior engagement I needed to take care of before I came. It took longer then expected to get here." She then unwrapped her hair and allowed it to fall to it's full length, allowing it to cover the elaborate symbol. ( Scion ) "I am Devaki Asura. I'm sure you already knew as much though." she added, her voice as thick as honey was sweet.

Khynes' head swiveled on his long neck, studying the new arrival. She worshiped Scion. That was apparent immediately from her mark that she tried to hide. He turned around again, and adopted the hunched over position most associated with his species. It made him stand out less than standing straight, at his full 6'8".
He rasped in a subservient manner, to placate the angry old man. "This one is sorry, venerable massster. I am Khynes Pakti, sent *hekh* by the Skraeling Shadow Knights as a gesture of good faith. It is my lordsss' will that our factions work together to *kikh* eradicate the Valordan menace. I am to serve in your academy until my servisssses are unwanted." Khynes bowed his head lightly.

Kashal was unphased by the ouburst from the old mage. "I move on Scion's time not yours, Mage. Do not think to value yourself over Him. You may have knowledge of the Valordan but if at any time Scion decides your usefulness is at an end there could be... troubles. Do not interfere with the plans of my master." Kashal spoke it calmly without ever losing his composure. The will of the dark god was his first priority. Pleasing his mad mentor was second.

Lephy ran at full speed towards the academy. She didn't want to be early, but she didn't think she'd be this late! She barely managed to skid to a halt before crashing into the old mage. Wincing, she looked up at him and gave an awkward laugh. "Eh heh heh heh heh heh... Sorry....."

Maloran burst into spasms of crazed and uncontrolled laughter. He turned to the priest of Scion, "I hope you realize child that I do not fear your God. He would not dare do anything to compromise my well being! I am the only one who knows how to fight the hated Valordan. Untill you have that information yourself you should refrain from threats!"
He turned to look at the rest of them. His second wave of students looked promising. He found it interesting that they all had religious obligations... interesting indeed. "You may enter the academy and await dorm assignments there. I must ponder on this."
He tuned and left in his usual way. A puff of smoke... only to reappear a short distance away.

Kashal took the mage's words without flinching. It irritated him how right the old man was. He would have to be more careful in the future. He sighed inwardly. He couldn't afford to screw this up. This was his big chance to show Scion his unquestioned devotion.
He nodded to each of the other students in turn before turning and entering the academy. He could only wonder what other surprises were in store within the academy walls.

Closeing her eyes, an amused look flowed over her features, her long hair shining ever so slightly. Once more she opened her purple-azure eyes as she heard the others speaking. The first was clearly haveing a fine time speaking, but that was expected... It was sometimes hard for her to maintain her speaking with all these english vowels.. She immediatly pittied the creature. The second was clearly of Scion by the way he spoke. She could have kept her eyes closed and still have known. She herself served under Scion, but for now she'd keep that info to herself. Yes she served him, but she was in no hurry to create problems with the others here. Ahh here came the second, she'd been wondering what the sounds she'd been hearing behind her were. She smiled some, this one was simply adorable, but again, she'd keep that to herself.
She stood unphased by the elders outburst; she'd been told much about him before she embarked on this little escapade. Her mind rewound the scene to the First man's words.. Ahh he was here for the same reason she was.. Though she figured most that came here were. Though alike to the Skraerling, she had no choice in the matter.
As the elder spoke again, Devaki's mind then wandered back to the present, colored ears taking in every word. A swift nod was giving towards the man before she waited for the others to understand as well. As soon as the elder was inside the castle, she slowly took a step forward, her eyes set on the door. She wanted to run, but she held herself back with the others.. if they were to follow and walk with her.

As soon as the old man turned his back, Khynes straigtened his own. Most of his people preferred the hunched position they adopted naturally, but he hated it. Hissing and clicking to himself in his native Skrael about the old man's arrogance and stupidity, he walked off towards the main building that Maloran had called the 'Academy'. These humans and their fancy words for every little thing! His training settlement had never been called an 'Academy', but they had the same purpose. Still hissing and clicking, he hefted his travel sack, and readjusted his swords before entering the building.
